Taipei, Taiwan, August 6, 2010 – First International Computer, Inc. (FIC), a world leader in the design and production of electronic devices, today announced a reseller agreement with Tridium, Inc., the leading global provider of device-to-enterprise application software and integration solutions. Under the terms of agreement, FIC will distribute all of Tridium’s NiagaraAX, Sedona Framework®, JACE (Java Application Control Engine) controllers, and I/O Controller in worldwide market.

By offering Tridium’s NiagaraAX software platform, FIC can now provide its customers with a complete device-to-enterprise solution that can be easily managed and controlled in real-time over the internet. “Tridium’s Niagara Framework technology integrates with  today’s various building systems to manage and control building environments, energy, security, lighting, video, fire, life safety and even more. It’s an efficient management platform targeting building automation, energy automation and security automation,” “we’re very glad to have this opportunity to cooperate with Tridium, whose leading open-system solution provides an incomparable position over the device-to-enterprise integration solutions,” said Dr. Ming J. Chien, chairman and president of FIC.

The Sedona Framework® is an open source development framework that brings the power of programmable control over Internet down to inexpensive devices. This software platform opens up System Integration opportunities for FIC, through the distribution of Tridium’s  technology and JACE embedded controllers and through the development of smart, connected devices.

“Application development by using Tridium’s software and hardware platforms dramatically reduces R&D investment, speeds up the time-to-market, provides a cost-conscious pricing,  and an easy implementation that this market is increasingly demanding,” said Dr. Ming J. Chien, chairman and president of FIC.

“This agreement is real win-win between FIC and Tridium,” said Marc Petock, Tridium’s vice president, global marketing and communications. “FIC is known for quality hardware design throughout the industry. Marrying their hardware design capability to our open-architecture application framework is the best for both of us in the equipment developing market.” “We believe our cooperation will bring out the best to leverage both parties’ strengths to expand our existing markets.”

According to Dr. Ming J. Chien, FIC’s chairman and president, the current major project FIC is working with Tridium is in developing a more reliable and easier use platform based on building automation in order to optimize energy use in building and provide a comfortable environment that doesn’t need too much man power to manage the operations.

Today, there are close to 200,000 instances of Tridium’s Niagara technology deployed in 45 countries in a variety of building automation, security automation, energy automation, telecom communications, M2M, and industrial management applications. Tridium’s Niagara license distribution has experienced tremendous growth and is predicted that its integration solution will grow with current rising business opportunity in green house and environmental controls.
