P4M-RS300

What can we say about this new P4 Chipset? Testing
this motherboard showed us all the good work that
FIC has done, as well as the improvements of the
ATI/Intel platform. The new RS-300 chipset is one
of the best chipsets on the market. If software
companies will support it, we can see this ATI chipset
being a winning solution against its counterpart,
nVidia with nForce. Also, for the price, the P4M-RS300
is really competitive. For about 100 Euro including
VAT, you can bring home a motherboard with integrated
3D graphics that is a thousand light years away
from a motherboard without an integrated VGA, like
the Geforce FX5200, that really costs too much,
based on its performance.
We have decided to award the FIC P4M-RS300 with
our "Editor's Choice" Award, because it's
one of the best alternative chipsets for P4, compared

FIC has been working hard to make a name for itself

on their way to doing just that.
Simply put, if you're looking for the best card
AVAILABLE, a 9800 Pro is your only real choice.
FIC's offering was solid as a rock and gave performance
that to a true enthusiast warrants the price.
When you stack the price of the FIC against the
price of other popular 9800 pro's, you may find
that this is the card that belongs in your box.

This card is the best Radeon 9700 Pro card we've
tested so far. It performs well, it is very stable,
even when you overclock, it overclocks ok, no problems
of any kind occurred, and besides all this it seems
to be a high quality product overall. Only thing
I miss is some software. I? like to see some DVD
software, and perhaps a funny game too. You might
be able to make the fan a tad less noicy, though
this is a trifle. -
